Warranty Policy

This Warranty Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and any applicable Crash Replacement Policy.

 

Limited Warranty

Hövding warrants that its products are free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal and intended use. Consumers are entitled to statutory remedies for non-conforming goods under applicable consumer protection laws. Such rights may extend beyond two years depending on the country of residence. This commercial warranty is provided in addition to, and does not affect, any statutory rights or remedies available to consumers under applicable law.

This warranty applies only to products purchased from Hövding or an authorized Hövding retailer. This commercial warranty is valid only for the original purchaser. Statutory consumer rights may apply independently of this limitation.

 

What Is Covered

This warranty covers defects resulting from:

  • Manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship.
  • Faults in electronic components, sensors, or activation systems caused by manufacturing errors.
  • Product failures occurring under normal use and in accordance with Hövding's user instructions.

 

What Is Not Covered

This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Cosmetic damage, including scratches, discoloration, or fabric wear.
  • Damage caused by accidents, misuse, neglect, improper storage, or unauthorized modifications.
  • Damage resulting from failure to follow the user manual and safety instructions.
  • Products that have been repaired, altered, or modified by anyone other than Hövding or an authorized service provider.
  • Damage caused by exposure to extreme temperatures, water, chemicals, or other environmental conditions outside the product specifications.
  • Products purchased from unauthorized resellers.
  • Products with removed, altered, or illegible serial numbers.

 

Airbag Deployment

Airbag deployment resulting from a cycling accident is considered the intended and expected use of the product and does not in itself indicate a manufacturing defect. Deployment of the airbag alone does not give rise to a warranty claim unless the deployment resulted from a verified manufacturing defect.

Hövding may offer a separate Crash Replacement Program. Such program is governed by its own terms and conditions and is independent of this warranty.

 

Warranty Claims

To submit a warranty claim, customers must:

  1. Contact Hövding Customer Support within the warranty period.
  2. Provide proof of purchase.
  3. Provide photographs, videos, or other information reasonably requested to evaluate the claim.
  4. Return the product for inspection if requested by Hövding.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that all information provided is accurate and complete. Hövding may decline a warranty claim where the information provided is incomplete, inaccurate, or insufficient to reasonably assess the claim.

 

Remedies

If Hövding determines that a valid warranty claim exists, Hövding may, where permitted by applicable law:

  • Repair the defective product;
  • Replace the product with the same or an equivalent model; or
  • Refund the original purchase price where repair or replacement is not reasonably possible.

Replacement products may be new or refurbished and will provide functionality equivalent to a new product.

 

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Hövding shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of or inability to use the product, including loss of profits, loss of use, or personal inconvenience.

Nothing in this warranty excludes or limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, gross negligence, product liability claims, or any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

 

Governing Law

This commercial warranty shall be governed by Swedish law, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in the consumer's country of residence provide a higher level of protection.
