Hövding 4 is not a helmet. Hövding 4 is an airbag for urbans cyclists. It is worn around your neck as a collar. Inside are sensors that monitor your movement 200 times per second. If a crash is detected, the airbag inflates in 0.1 seconds, protecting your head and neck against impact and rotational violence.
iSi Wearables, part of iSi Group, is the owner of the Hövding brand and all associated rights and patents. Together with iSi Automotive – an experienced development partner for automotive airbag systems – the new Hövding 4 is being developed and produced. This collaboration brings decades of expertise in automotive safety technology to the next generation of the airbag for urban cyclists.
Hövding 4 is developed by iSi Wearables, benefiting from iSi Group’s many years of expertise in the development of life-saving airbag systems for the automotive industry. While the outside remains familiar, user-friendly, and comfortable, the inside has been re-engineered using the latest hardware and software technologies, including neuro-based algorithm development.
Hövding 4 is planned for launch during fall 2026.

In Sweden, the Swedish Consumer Agency temporarily halted sales of Hövding 3 due to concerns regarding its reliability. The company responsible at the time initiated legal proceedings, after which the sales ban was lifted. However, by then the company had already declared bankruptcy, and sales could therefore not be resumed.
The Swedish Consumer Agency raised concerns about whether the product reliably delivered its promised protective effect. iSi Wearables has reviewed these comments and addressed them in the development of Hövding 4.
As iSi Wearables was not involved in the development or production of Hövding 3, we cannot provide a definitive opinion. Based on our current knowledge and the tests and certifications originally conducted, the protective performance of Hövding 3 corresponds to the safety standards defined at the time of its approval.
iSi Wearables was not the manufacturer of Hövding 3 and was not involved in its development or production. Therefore, we are unfortunately unable to advise on, or assume responsibility for, product versions prior to Hövding 4.
